Life today just seems like a constant battle raging both inside and outside yourself and you feel out of control. Anxiety dominates your thought-life and you can’t make it stop. The voice of fear is so loud you’re convinced that your dog can even hear it. You believe the lie that without fear and anxiety, and their not-so-distant cousin control, nothing will be as it should so you must act and make things happen yourself, otherwise, who will? To silence fear and anxiety you eat, you drink, you smoke, you shop, and for a brief period, it appears these things are working. You start to feel better about the situation and say to yourself, “I got this.” Then, you start using manipulation and control in your relationships until you notice no one wants to be around you anymore (including your dog) and life feels very lonely. Fear and anxiety return with a vengeance and everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, gets worse. At this point, your dog reacts by barking, growling or worse, running away with his tail between his legs. “Traitor.” You graduate to panic attacks, arriving uninvited in the dark of the night or in the light of day for all to see and at this point you believe you should be institutionalized. You constantly wonder, “Why does this keep happening (to me)? Why can’t I stop? Why do I feel so broken and out of control? Is God punishing me? Where is God?”

PEACE AND TRUST

If any of these scenarios ring true for you know that you are not alone. What you are facing is real, painful and even debilitating. Sometimes the lies of anxiety speak louder than God’s truth. This is where I come in. Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) I will show you how to apply Scripture to faulty thought patterns that lead to painful emotions and dysfunctional behaviors and experience decreased anxiety and worry and find emotional healing. Together we’ll examine family-of-origin dynamics and unhealthy patterns to uncover deep-rooted strongholds that are blocking your emotional and relational freedom so that you gain increased awareness and understanding and experience relational connection. Together we can move your anchor from people and circumstances that are constantly changing and unreliable to God whose character and promises are constant and always reliable and you experience peace in the midst of the storm.
